1960 Fresh air inlet, radio ground and wood spacers under sill plates

Hello all. I'm working on the '60 and have a few quick questions.

    1. Where does the radio ground wire pass through the firewall?

    2. What is the thickness of the wooden spacers under the sill plates. My car had none. Were these just plywood pieces?

    3. Is the fresh air inlet valve supposed to be left "unpainted natural fiber glass" (dark gray) as specified in the TIMJG?

    Thanks!

The fresh air inlet is unpainted gray fiberglass, the radio ground goes through firewall almost inline with the right valve cover since that is where it is fastened. The wood sill spacer on my 1960 is approximately 1/4" thick and made of hardwood (oak?), not plywood.

Thanks very much Joe. I'm about to go attempt to remove the cluster so I'll look for the firewall passage while I'm down there.

      Appreciate the feedback!

Dave, I just looked at my 1960 and I was a little off with the location of the hole where the radio ground goes through the firewall. The hole is not on the flat part of the firewall it it 90 degrees to the firewall behind the spark plug wire vertical shield. It is a large hole where the main wiring harness goes through, along with the radio ground wire; all of this on the passenger side.

          Thanks Joe.

Looks like everything on that side goes through the large hole/grommet for the ignition harness just above and left of the ballast resistor as viewed from the firewall side.

          Appreciate the help!
