54 tach drive

The 54 I have been working on is coming together nicley. It runs well now and all seems to be working fine, except. The tach quit. Well it wont go above 1000 rpm and has a noise in the distributor. The cable is new and the tach works fine when driven with a drill motor. So I suspect its the drive in the distributor. I did a search and did not find any info for the 6cyl dist. Any help at this point would be great. Thanks Ed

Ed, you might give Grossmueller's a try. http://www.gccorvettes.com/?action=home They have the distributor tach gears and rebuilds. I would think they would also offer rebuilding distributors. Bob

Can't help you with that issue but have many other 54 parts if you need any.
