Starter Wires Lock Washer

I received my starter back from restoration.

The AIM indicates that the positive battery cable attaches to the solenoid and there is a lock washer between the cable and the solenoid.

However, Sheets A11 and A8 have conflicting details.

Sheet A8 shows a bolt, lock washer, cable, bolt in the drawing. Sheet A11 shows a lock washer, cable, and a bolt.

Do the solenoid wires have split ring lock washers or star type lock washers.

Based on my memory I tend to think that the details on Sheet 11 are correct.

Hi Bill,
The 3 washers on my 71's solenoid are the star type.
On the battery cable stud there is starting at the solenoid... nut, star washer, cable connector, nut. The nut at the solenoid is thin but the 'last' nut is even thinner.

Hi Bill,
I'm glad to share the little I can remember or find.
I haven't been to Jimmy Cone, maybe I need to make a trip. SOFT ICE CREAM? About the only time I get to Mt. Airy is if I'm going to be headed West on 70 or on my way to Tony's Corvettes.
