    changing out small block to bb 1966 help

    looking to take out a 327 and install the new 427 GM Anniversary Edition ZL1 Engine question is what will i need to change.I am also going to install a 5 speed trans instead of the powerglide help with that what will i need would help a lot.the car is a 1966 coupe with ac.

    why not install a all aluminum 427 ci small block as they are available from different engines builders? that way no fitment problems

      i am also looking at that as well,just thought 427 would be neat to have but very expensive..

        Mark, You may encounter fitment problems with the 5 speed tranny if it is a Tremec. The Tremec is a large tranny and usually hits the top of the tranny tunnel in the floor. I had to use a combination of spacers on the tranny mount and also raise the body nearly 3/8" by using rubber wedges between the floor and cross-member. The end result was worth it for me.
