    A/C Compressor manifold changes

Didn' get any feed back on the changing design in the compressor muffler assy from C-2 through like 72. Maybe someone can confirm or correct my thoughts. The C-2 assy per parts catalog was a 3895917 which looked like the glasses type with the caps on the sides and a hose coming out the front. I think this was used till the 3923139 came out per AIM C60, D2 (5-12). It was similar to the 917 except the caps were on the top and the hoses out the bottom. Then for 69 and on the Parts catalog states the 3992144 SB, and 3949928 BB which I think was the more common square or block design. I looked at all the C60 cars on pro team and they kind of supported my logic. What do you think?

    Re: A/C Compressor manifold changes

    Dale:

The manifold on my March 1967 built car is the #917, or looks like the #917 pictured in the 1967 AIM. Since the car has its original compressor, I feel that the manifold is also the correct one.

However, this manifold only has one AC schrader connection for the high pressure side. The low pressure connection is at the POA valve. However, I have seen many mid-years with a (original looking) manifold that has both high and low connections as you describe.
