    I'm not aware of any change-over from 71-72 and my 71 has the hollow, chrome acorn nuts. Hope this helps. Mike

            Hi Edward,
            The originals on my 71 look like Patrick's picture; hollow and chrome plated. They each have PAL stamped on one of the flat surfaces.

              The ones on my 72 coupe are the hollow type, but they aren't chrome plated. They appear zinc plated.
