    1965 Alternator Pulley

Trying to determine the correct alternator pulley for a 1965 327/365hp with the C60 air condition. The 1965 assembly manual indicates a pulley #3848023. This pulley is not listed in the Oct 1962, Oct 1964, or Oct 1968 Chevrolet Parts and Accessories Cat. The 1964 and 1968 both indicate a #3846180 pulley which according to the parts book had an OD of 3 and 3/64. Hoping someone can shed some light on the correct number and size for this pulley. Also is should have the 1/2 inch wide groove.
    Regards,

Page, I looked in a 1966 printing of the parts book and I come up with the same results that you did on the alt pulley. It shows a 3846180 for 365 HP with C60.

I looked in the parts history section and found that the original 3848023 had been replaced in service by the 3846180 in October of 64. I don't know why the 023 number continued in the 65 AIM though.

There were no dimensions shown for the 023.

Page, Michael -- the July '65 P&A30 also shows the '180' pulley for a 1965 air L76 and L79, and the history shows it replaced the '023' in service by Nov '64.

Now I don't have an Oct '63 (ie. 1st printing of 1964 parts book) to see if the '023' appears there, and if so, states a diameter dimension and groove width).

So we're left with the '65 TIM&JG saying that pulley should be 3_3/8" dia for these two hi perf C60 engines, which we have to assume must be the dimension of the '023'. No other stand-alone pulley (ie. no integrated fan)in my parts book has this exact dimension. So this must be one rare production-only puppy .

Anyone care to volunteer a pic of theirs ?
