    '65 VIN font photos

I'm trying to evaluate the serial number stamping on a '65 engine stamping pad. I would appreciate any close up photos anyone would care to email to me to show how an original "1" should appear in a '65 serial number (VIN) stamping. I'm looking for original examples from the serial number stamping and not the assembly date stamping.

    Help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Tim - Is yours a 327 ? If so, can you please e-mail it to me the stamp pad too. My 65 is 8847 and I would like to see a pad for a car close to mine.

          Tony,

I assume this is for your big block 396??? If so here is a picture of the car that I am currently restoring. I can send you more if you need them.

          Hope this helps.

Thanks James. No, it's actually for an L79 car built 3-31-65. I will probably be in Omaha later this Summer visiting in-laws. I'd enjoy coming by to see what you are working on.

              Tony,

I have an unrestored/original '65 equipped with the L79 engine option. I'll get some picture of the stamp pad and send them to you.
