    70 sb spark plug wires

After reviewing the archives I have a question. Seems like the dated wires have not been terribly reliable but I want a stoke look if the dated wires are that bad.

I noticed that Pertronix offers all black 7mm spiral core wires. Does anyone have any experience with the Pertronix wires or any other recommendation? The GM wires have red boots which I am not crazy about.

    Summit has them for $37.00.

    Thanks, Bill

Bill, by "spiral cores", If they are like the old Whitaker spiral core (wire wound around the cental core) they are excelllent. I did not know that Whitaker wire and cable was still in busness. The Whiaker wires have a enlarged boot as it has the resistor in the end under the spark plug boot. Or used too. Dale

The set currently sold by ACDelco look quite stock and perform well, especially for $35-40/set.

Not for NCRS judging, but great for dependability and long time use I have Moroso Blue Max spiral core plug wires on my 68, 70, and 85 Corvettes.
Put them on the 68 first, over 22 years ago. Come precut to length for my Corvette installation and preformed ends, no modification needed.

I think you can use "black tire paint" to paint the red boots black.

Or, if the existing black boots are in good shape, you can remove the red boots and install the old black boots.

Well, I think I will be doing the flat black Petronix wires. They will look stock and be reliable.

            Thanks for all the input!
