I'd contact Hagerty or a similar company. If they don't know how to insure it then it's all downhill from there as any company that does "general liability" won't likely have a clue.
And, those companies tend to charge you a lot more money.

Try your regular auto insurer. Liability may be dirt cheap without comprehensive or collision. It is in Michigan.

        Another option.

Most P&C Companies provide prorated refunds upon cancellation.
Best to check first with your carrier, but buy a 6 or 12 month BI/PD coverage policy and cancel it after the exposure period.

Assuming he already has 1st party coverage (collision and comp) check with that company for some special consideration......but most likely he'll have to buy a full term and then cancel.

His regular insurer should be able to help out - worth a try.

My regular insurer is USAA and being as how I swap cars around at least every six months, they are happy to update coverage as required.

His insurer should be willing to sell him a liability policy prorated for the two weeks. Or he can buy a full six month policy, then cancel it after two weeks and get a refund for the unused portion.

Or he could try a collector car insurance company. USAA refers their customers to Amerincan Collectors for collector car insurance, and it's so cheap I just keep the policy in force year round.

If the cars are still 'actively' raced, there's such a thing as race car insurance. It's pretty inexpensive because these policies have specific exclusion clauses for on-track loss incidents, but they generally cover losses incurred during storage and/or general transport...

Few racers bother to investigate/buy these policies because they exclude the major loss area (on-track competition), but such can be a Godsend in the event of other loss incidents...
