Bilstein shock question, HD or the Sport

    Hi all.
I've read through the archives regarding the Bilstein shocks, and they seem to be recommended for the driver car. I've looked in to purchasing a set, and have seen they are available in the HD and Sport varieties.
Which ones are the preferred set, the HD or Sport for a 70 small block car?

    Robert:

I just bought a set of Bilsteins HD's, based on the recommendation of many Bilstein C2 users (on that other forum).

I'm satisfied with them, although my ride is still bouncier than I'd like.

The Sports are said to be great for autocrossing, but too stiff for just street use. My car is a roadster, and it doesn't need another reason to creak/shudder/groan.

Are they that much better than KYB's (half the price)?? Doubt it.

I like the Edelbrock IAS shocks for driving, if you want to try something different. They totally transformed the ride of my 70 Cutlass, which had Konis on it.

We have Bilstein HD's on our '72. Put them on over 10 years ago. Totally different car! Would not trade them for anything else that I have seen on the market!
