    Which Came First???

Was the rear wheel well black out treatment done before or after the trailing arms were installed - anyone know? I am looking to learn whether the castle nut and cotter pin should show plated or black on my 1972 SB conv.

    Don,

They were done on two separate lines. The chassis was assembled on the (yes, really) chassis line and the body on the body line. The blackout et al was on the body when it was dropped onto the completed chassis.

End point - zinc plated hardware.

Thanks Patrick. Mine are showing black, which I thought was wrong, but I didn't want to add to my "to do" list without confirmation.

Be sure to notice my plated castle nuts and cotter pins next month when you're under my car with the clipboard.
