    Fan Clutch Rebuilding

I'm looking to get my F/Clutch rebuilt for my '73 and have been trying to get in touch w/ Fred Oliva through emails and phone calls for the last several weeks w/ no response. Does anyone know if he still is in operation ? If not, any good alternatives ?
    Thanks,
    Tim

Fred is still in business and is about a year out turn around time. Tough to get in touch with.

      Best there is.

        Re: Fan Clutch Rebuilding

Tim, after the rebuild/restoration the fan clutch is physically different in shape. It looks great but it is different. This is due to the original construction of the part and what it takes to get it apart and then put back together.

I did hear a few months back that a new person/re-builder entered the game and performs a different process and after the rebuild looks almost identical to the original part. Problem is I can't remember his name. Hopefully someone else will add to this thread.

I'm away from home, maybe someone can post a picture of an unrestored clutch and a restored clutch.

Searching thru the archives it appears that Vinny has a fairly quick turn around time and no complaints about his work. Anybody else on this board use Vinny and can comment?

Personally, I would never use Fred again. It took me 1.5 years to get mine back which included many, many phone calls, and sending it back twice due to leaks. I'm just glad someone else entered the game.

I haven't used Vinny, but I spoke with him last week. Said he was about 3 months out for turnaround time right now.
