    C3 Aftermarket Weatherstrip

My 1981 Coupe is in need of weatherstrip replacement. Has anyone worked with the aftermarket latex weatherstrips? Are there any advantages to the latex kits versus the normal rubber kits available from Corvette parts houses? Is it worth the extra money?

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Re: C3 Aftermarket Weatherstrip

I am currently restoring a 1980 model and have the same question. I would like to purchase an "all inclusive" kit that has every seal. I was looking at Ecklers "Soff Seal" are these NCRS correct. Are the GM replacements still available, or should I be looking at another brand. Help needed. Thanks

      John and Ed,

Sorry but there are NO perfect reproductions across the board out there. You will have to hunt and pick and pick and choose!

Soft Seal is a good company but also Corvette Rubber makes good products.

Probably the worst rubber is from GM. Or at least when you could get it you would not want GM rubber.

Don't think there is a perfect answer to this question.
