    Wiring Diagram Labels

Can anyone help me understand these labels on the wires on a wiring diagram for an 84 Corvette?

    SXL
    CXL
    Thermo HW
    SGX
    GXL

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Re: Wiring Diagram Labels

Essentially they were all descriptive terms for the insulation of various types used in the cable jacket. partial list follows:

    SXL-Special Purpose Cross-Linked Polyethylene insulation
CXL-Original designation for Cross-linked polyethelyne insulation
Thermo HW HW indicates Heavy Wall insulation
SGX-starter or ground General Purpose Cross-linked polyethylene insulation
    GXL-General Purpose Cross-Linked Polyethelyne

Additionally PVC-Polyvinyl Chloride insulation, generally the major jacket material for auto wiring prior to the 1970's.
