When I took my '84 out of storage today the oil temp gauge does not change from the 'lo' reading. All other displays are fine. I'm assuming it is the oil temp sensor, which I believe is located near the oil filter. Any other ideas, and how difficult a fix is it? Coincidentally or not, I had the oil changed just before it was parked in Nov. and due to the proximity of the sensor to the oil filter wonder if the GM tech may have bumped/loosened something while servicing the car. I may not have had that particular display on when driving home, so it could have been missed by me at that time.

Re: '84 oil temperature gauge stays at lo
Thanks. I'll try and check it out tonight. The coincidence of the failure is leading me to believe it was something caused by the tech person. Even if it's the sensor itself, I don't believe that is an expensive fix.- Top

Re: '84 oil temperature gauge stays at lo
Finally had a chance to check it out tonight and sure enough, the green wire was disconnected. I was able to reach up and feel my way to the male end and plugged it back in. Thanks for the help!- Top
