    1969 L36 Wiring To Starter

My AIM says I should have a purple, yellow, black and red wire going to the starter and solenoid terminals. But the orig harness bundle to the starter contains three reds and a black. Any comments? Thanks

Are you sure the harness wasn't hacked into at some point and then re-wrapped? I would be willing to bet that if you unwrapped the harness wires to the starter you eventually would find where the wires were replaced. Because of the proximity to the exhaust, it is very common for these wires to burn, insulation get brittle and fall off etc., and so new wires are spliced in their place.

Thanks for your reply. You were correct. In fact I did suspect the hack job but it was pretty well done and well wrapped. Looks like it will be fairly easy to fix. Thanks again. Herb
