did I use the correct JD blitz black? bought more today it has a diff number.

I painted the firewall and inner fenders on my dads 68 with John Deere blitz black PN TY25311.

it turned out pretty good a little on the flat side from original IMO...

well today I bought 1 can because I ran a little short..well the PN is TY25631.

dealer told me it should be the EXACT same, just curious if anyone has noticed if it was or not.

the 2 cans of TY25311 I used I bought like 2 years ago and I think it had another PN before the TY25311 even called pt107 or something.

was this a good choice for the engine bay of our 68? or is something out there thats closer to original?

    thanks

    Hi Brandon,
I can't respond about you're part number question (I'm still hoarding #1613) but I will mention that I found you can vary the sheen on semi-flat black to a surprising degree by how wet or dry you spray it and by how heavy the various coats are.
I used this fact to achieve different sheens on parts of the frame and on the many small parts that are black. It wouldn't surprise me to see various levels of sheen in the same engine compartment on an original car. I would more likely notice if the blackout was too well done than if it was a little too shiny or a little too flat.
    Regards,
    Alan
