    1966 Defroster Duct

There is about a 1" gap between the bottom of the defroster duct and the outlet in the main horizontal airbox duct that is just below it. Is this gap normal or do I have a problem?

Standard GM design practice, to isolate the noise/vibration of the heater box from the duct and upper dash panel, which would amplify them (like a drumhead).
