Re: Hushmat Installed - Ready for "Padding"
Stuff just pulls right off. It has a backing paper over a sticky backing that holds it down. The longer it sits the more "sticky" it becomes, so I can't say that I have tried to remove it years after installation. Might not be as easy as while installing, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't come off fairly easily.

what happens if you want to remove it the huskmat from your car.
or does it stay for ever.
what do you remove it with.
Excellent question!
I'm dealing with some kind of adhesive backed foil type padding in the '68 Camaro that I'm working on. Bubba put it in the floorboard to cover the holes, but nowhere else. It has been in there a while and will not come out easily. It's going to take a scraper, hammer, my best solvents, and a lot of time to get that stuff out.
Of course, I probably won't do any of this and just replace the entire floor panel sections. I bet the steel mill can get that aluminum off with thier arc furnace! This method probably does'nt work too well with a Vette.
Seriously, I think you're making a commitment when you use this stuff.

i am restoring a 65 a/c car wanted to use it to
keep the heat out but then thought i might want to
remove it sometime later.
that was why i was asking the question about removing it
but at my age why worry about it let the next person have that
problem. which by the way will be my daughter since we vette
nuts dont sell anything.
