    One Lap of Thunderhill Raceway

Jim Lockwood's Gran Sport makes a lap at Thunderhill Raceway. What a ride.

Love the speed actuated cowl induction. Looked like he was just out for a sunday drive.

Aluminum small block with four side draft Weber carburetors, 6000 redline.

Transmission is a close ratio super T-10. Rear gears are 3.70.

A slight correction...... that's the rear of the hood rising due to air pressure that builds up in the engine compartment. That hood, used only once at Nassau Speed Weeks in December '63, has horrible aerodynamic properties. I have it loosely tied down with two leather straps so it won't try to tear itself off the car.

Passengers are sometimes surprised when it pops up!

Thank you. It's as close as I can come to replicating the look of the Grand Sport engines as they appeared in late '63.
