If anyone went to the Borgata auction what did you think of the yellow
67 bb. It went to 104k or 109k but did not sell. After that it went to the
Convention Center but I dont know what happened. To my untrained eye
it looked like a hot car.
I Was A Vendor In Atlantic City At The Show/auction. I Did Get A Chance To Look Over The Yellow 67 On Sunday Afternoon. It Did Look Very Nice And Was Very Correct Under The Hood. I Know The Car Did Not Sell Because I Was Talking To An Apraiser Who Was Looking Over The Car.
The Auction Itself Was Pretty Weak I Heard Only 10 Percent Of The Cars Sold. Most Of The Corvettes That Were There Were Only Of Driver Quality

Was at the auction on friday and only saw the yellow 67 coming into the auction, did not see it up close. Very few vettes were there on friday - there was a 350HP 70/71 Duntov silver/blk with a blk. cordavan hardtop, full power,AC, auto - it was outstanding was asking 48,000 (32000 miles ).
Very little was selling unless reserves were lifted, watched the block for about 40 minutes. It looked like an Olds show with the vast number of 442's that were there - you can tell times are bad by the selling price of some of the cars, cash is king.
I was there vending all weekend too. As such I didn't get to see any auction action, but had some friends watching. I was told only 5 cars sold on Thursday, but most of the cars on Thursday are usually junk anyway. On Saturday morning, Tony, who runs the car corral and swap meet, came by to say hi and claimed they had a "big" day on Friday with lots of cars selling. Based on what I was told by others and from what I'd seen of sales in the swap meet, I didn't believe him.
The widow of a former customer of mine had 2 cars go through the auction on late Saturday afternoon, prime time. The first a 71 LT-1 coupe, bought at AC for $52,000 5 years ago, didn't make reserve at $46,000. The second, a 66 big block bought at the Borgata 5 years ago for I think around $80,000-90,000, bid to about the same this year I was told, but didn't meet reserve either. These were both nice cars and the reported high bid was fair I thought. In this case, I think the reserves were unrealistic, but I understand that this could be said of many of the cars presented for sale.
Sunday by noon, they were calling for cars that had not been sold at auction previously in the weekend, to get back in line to go through the auction again. To be fair, the crowd was pretty thin on Sunday, at lease partly due to the weather (snow Saturday night and more forcast for Sunday afternoon).
