    Correct Horns for a 56?

I have a set of horns for my 56 but want to make sure they are correct since the JG has very little information as to what is correct and what isn't. Mine have the 759 and 760 stamp and the connector with red plastic washer that protrudes through the cover. Are these correct? I also have a 768 horn (no external connector) but don't know what application that is for.

Any idea when the 56-57 JG is due for a re-write with the level of detail that is contained in the mid-year JGs?

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Mark,
I looked at the horns I have taken off my '56 and they are stamped with the numbers 759 on one and the other is either 760 or 769. I can't tell. I don't have any red connectors. There is a blade type male connector where the wire from the harness plugs in. The cover on that part of the horn is shaped like a sphere cut in half. It is sheet metal. I wish I could post a picture but the wife is not here. She is the computer guru in this household. From the way it sounds, if yours are not original than mine may not be either. My horns have been on the car since I owned it. I have had it for right at 42 years.

These are #759 and #760 horns 55 to 57 12V. That have a RED bushing where the wire connects . The 6 V horns have a WHITE bushing, Top pic's is the 12V voltage regulators having red tag

759 and 760 are correct for a 56 Vette. As I recall, these are the same horns that were used on 56 passenger cars. Ther difference is the mounting bracket. The Corvette mounting bracket is unique to Corvettes.

          Guys,
I am in error as to what I wrote earlier. Looking into a garage cabinet with a flash light is not the best way to look at and give and accurate description of a part. My second look showed me a threaded stud with a nut and red washer on one side. The washer is missing on the other side. The pictures posted by Roy show how the horns should look with unique brackets. A picture is definitely worth a thousand words.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks, the picture of the #759 and #760 horns posted by Roy Braatz are a passenger car application. The Corvette brackets that attach to the radiator support are longer with greater spacing between the two attaching bolts.
