    72 correct thermostat outlet

I have a 1972 big block LS5. I am trying to find out the correct numbers for the thermostat outlet and if these were dated, and lastly if they are aluminum or iron. Thanks.

    Robert----

All 1972 Corvettes used thermostat housing GM #3877660 OR GM #3972128. The thermostat housings were both die cast aluminum. None had dates.

The GM #3972128 is pictured below.
