My 96 came with Wagner Halogen headlights which still work, but I'd like to get and store correct replacements for the future. I believe GM still sells these, but I was wondering if there are any differences between the production lights and these service replacements?
I stopped by my local GM dealer and he had a replacement light, and I can now answer my own question - yes, there are subtle differences.
The current replacements have the DOT markings in a slightly different place, and they have other numbers and "USA" on them which I'm pretty sure are not on my originals. Also, on the originals the words "WAGNER HALOGEN" are separated by a little round dot - the replacements do not have this. Even the reflective squares appear slightly different.
I guess it's time to start trying to track down yet another original part!
