Help me understand how/what/why the factory painted interior items during C3 years.
I'm looking in the P&A, 1983 edition and there are notes such as for the seat adjuster knob "paint as required." Or...
Seat hinge cover used from 78-82 refers a single part number without specififying color but note specifies use of primer 1051497 and "paint to match" So for example, I'm looking at broadcast code A51 (seat code) with GM numbers 466687 and 466688 for all 78-82 seat applications which include the Pace Car in 78.
I think my question is was it common for the factory to paint interior components to match leather and vinyl parts?
Or...because I'm looking at an 83 edition, it is referencing SERVICE replacement for those years?
