    Surging

I have a 427 390 HP VETTE. What would cause it to surge, like you would be pushing your clutch in and out after you take your foot off the gas at a slow speed, especially going down a hill? As soon as I apply acceleration the surge disappears. As long as I"m driving the car runs smooth, My vette has been doing this for 15 years, The surging has gotten no worse or better,

    Re: Surging

Float level should be checked sounds like you are running on excelerator pump. Starving for gas on the off idle circut. Also check if vacum advance hooked up. Is it the stock cam and carb setup? check fuel filter? check fuel pump pressure? How old is gas/ iS THIS A RECENT JUST COME ON PROBLEM? You can also blow out each fuel line with compressed air for any obstructions. Main jet could be plugged partially.Car is starving for fuel. Does it worse going up hill. GRAVITY! Harder to push fuel uphill than sphon downhill. Weak fuel pump maybe? Starting points and suggestions Kevin
