In reviewing the judging manual regarding Cylinder Case Casting Numbers the chart listing within the manual list casting numbers for a 68 427 can be #3916321 or #3935439. Does anyone know if either of these casting numbers should relate to a certain HP, because the chart does not state. Or is the chart simply stating either number is acceptable whether its a 390, 400,430 or 435hp. Any help on this is appreciated.

Re: 68 Big Block
Corvette by the numbers states that the 321 was produced until about Jan 68 then the 439 began production. This may be true but the 321's were still in the system for sometime after production stopped as my car has the 321 IL with a March 8th build. I found a car built 297 units after mine also with a 321, its engine was cast on the same day as mine. Oh yes, the 321 was used for all 390, 400, 435 hp 427's, i.e. with 2 and 4 bolt mains.
