    9001 or 9002 Voltage regulator for a early 59?

The JM states for 59 fuelie that it could either have a 9001 or a 9002 voltage regulator. 9001 being 30 amps and 9002 being 35 amps. I have a 1102059 generator which was a 1st design from 58 at 30 amps with a smooth convex cad plug. So for a 59 built in December of 1958, should it have a 9001 or a 9002 voltage regulator? I've heard that GM may have switched over to the 9002 when they switched the generator over to the 1102173, so it makes sense that it would be the 30 amp generator matched up with a 30 amp voltage regulator, whereas the 1102173 was a 35 amp generator and should be matched up with the 9002.
