I'd bet money the lumpy steering you feel is due to a pit or maybe even a dent in the sector roller in the steering box. This is a common problem with the early cars and no adjustment in the world is going to make that go away. You'll need to rebuild the box.

Check to see if parts are worn and adjusted correct.

I had the lumpy feel in my '59. Had to rebuild the steering box.

When I rebuilt my car, all was well with pitman arm and drag link, it was a chip on the worm gear that caused my steering bind. I rebuilt my drag link while I was rebuilding front suspension, but that just needed cleaning and fresh grease. The rebuild of the box was $500 to do myself, but money well spent. Steers beautifully now.

Brad, ditto on the rebuild. I tried to repair the sector roller and shaft assy to no avail. I invested in the kit from Corvette Steering and rebuilt it. It now works perfectly.

Thank you all for your input, I will see If my adjustments have made a diff. when rain stops on the road and go from there. Brad.
