Paint Question - 916 Daytona Blue Poly

    Hi...

Is PPG 12696 Daytona Blue Metallic Poly using PPG ultra premium basecoat the correct paint? Any clearcoat recomendations?

    Thanks Guys!

Don't have any info on this PPG product but would recommend that you do a test panel of whatever you are looking at. Will cost you $50 or so.

Daytona Blue is a very difficult colour to get right.

My painter did me a test panel using the current Dupont offset (don't have number handy) and I think it is just about perfect.

      Clearcoat

Have seen many testimonials for SPI clearcoat. Southern Polyurethane.
I will be using it on my '65 Nassau Blue car over PPG base.

        Andrew,

That's the correct paint code according to the resources, but I agree with Tom that you should test it before it's sprayed on the car.

          Andrew,

I just had a Daytona Blue 63 repaired with PPG BC/CC. The color is right on including the tint and metallic content.
