C2 Paint suggestion for gauge cluster lettering

I have read all the archival posts on the subject of what paint to use to brighten the chrome letters on my 66 gauge cluster. After 42 years my lettering is dull and I am at the point where I am going to refurb the cluster. Can anyone suggest a chrome paint that is bright enough to look original? And the best way to apply? I understand that the best way is to spray Sem Trim Black paint over the entire unit first and then remove where not wanted, and then apply lettering paint. I will appreciate any suggestions.

I guess now one has done this before. I would like to know as well for I do not like to rely on others for my projects.

I read a post a long time ago and tried it. Looks pretty good but tedious to do. I used a PILOT Permanent Silver Marker with extra fine point. Hope it helps.

Don, That's good to know, and I will get one, and experiment. Thanks for your help.
