    C1 Parking Brake Light Switch

The brass actuator on the switch plunger is broken and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get that part and how I can replace it. Do you think the switch is press fit into the bracket ? I'll try to fabricate the brass leaf if no one makes a replacement.

Is there supposed to be a rivet head on top of the plunger ?

    Thanks....

I've never seen replacement parts for the switch and a few years ago I looked. Ended up buying one from a fellow member. Check E-Bay, they show up once in a while or put a want ad in the driveline. I suppose you could try to solder the piece back on, they don't just that part of it, just as long as it works.

      Mark--
I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the "tang" that is part of the separate bracket that screws to the main housing and bracket is missing on yours as well. That should fit into the T-shaped receiver on the main bracket.

Mike - the T is there. It just isn't visible in the picture. Any idea how to separate the switch from the bracket ?

I took the switch apart by bending the 4 tabs.

It is held on by a bushing like brass rivet in which the plunger comes through the center.

I will probably make a new one using a 6" lathe I have and fabricate the actuator leaf.

If it works I'll post something with pictures.

Mark, What did you ever do with the broken switch? Did you fabricate anything?
