    63 Fan Blade

At a chapter meet I attended this past summer with and in reviewing the judging sheet under 5. Engine Cooling System, under the item FAN had a note written by the judge that stated "HUB HOLES -Too Big - Not Original. Since then, I have read and it is my understanding that the fan is to be 17 1/8" Gloss black, the blades are to be 4" x 5.68" and rounded at the ends and the blades are attached with round button head rivits as well has having the Letter H stamp in the front of the fan (Correct for 63) There is no mention about Hub holes in the judging manaul I can see. Does anyone know what size hub hole are correct for this fan? Any information regarding the HUB Hole size would be helpful while I trying to locate the correct fan to purchase.

    Thank you

I believe the center hole size on the fan should be 2-3/8" OD. In fact, I believe this hole size was used for all pre-71 Corvette fan blade assemblies used with fan clutches.

Jeff -- here's a shot of the fan & clutch off a '64 VIN range 86xx; shows the slip fit between the clutch hub (2.31" dia) and the hole in the fan (2.37", as Joe L. has mentioned). Other side of fan has only the "H" stamped (nothing else), and is otherwise as you described. It is part # 3770529.

Thank you so very much for the example. Attached is a fan blade I bought tonight. I believe it is correct. It has the H stamped on the front and the round rivets. What do you think? The Hub is 2 3/8" as well

Thank you for the great info.
