    Correct Interior Screw Set Opinions?

    Hey Gang!

So, I got dinged a bunch for incorrect interior screws on my '64 coupe this summer during judging, and am looking to pick up a complete screw set. Obviously, I want to get a set that is as 'correct' as possible - so, any suggestions on a supplier?

Also, I'm looking to get arm rests and perhaps seat-back hindges, with the same 'correct' criteria. Suggestions?

    Cheers!

If you call any of the bigger vendors, Dr. Rebuild, Paragon, Corvette Central, etc. and ask them, they will tell you whether their screw kits are exact repos. I believe Paragon still gives a discount to NCRS members.

I cannot speak for C2 kits, but I do know that many of the "complete and correct" for C3s are not. However, there is probably more similarity between a 1963 and 1967 than a 1968 and 1982.

There are several of the interior screws that no one reproduces, or does it incorrectly. I suggest that you look at an original car, that way you know exactly what you are looking for. I have spent many hours at swap meets hunting screws

Darwin, the hardest screws for you to find correct ones are the kick panel and radio side panel screws. They are very unique and none of the 'repro' kits are correct. Ebay has some but they always get big $ for them. Take Dicks advice, look at 'correct' cars, etc. Happy Hunting!

Here are the kick panel and radio side screws.

Nobody repros these, as far as I know.

            These are currently on EBAY.

Chuck, those six screws look correct for the kick panels, the radio ones are different style. Darwin, check your AIM carefully to determine how many and which are similar screws by part number, then track those babies down!

You're right, Dan. Those are the kick panel screws.

The radio ones are similar, but flatter, or "not as tall" and have a fixed washer head, not a free spinning washer.

                  Yikes!

I had no idea this would be such an ordeal...

                  Thanks for the feedback!

                  Cheers!
