    C3 EGR Troubleshooting

I pulled an EGR off of a 56k L82 (78) and attempting to figure out if its good or not. Diaphram works fine. Manual suggest supplying constant form of vacuum to the port and determine how long, or short it takes for the pintle to snap back into its neutral position.

Anyone troubleshoot an EGR and how I might create a constant source of vacuum? BTW...can't keep motor running long enough to run around and check. Have been troubleshooting several systems like fuel, ignition, emissions...one thing at a time.

    TOM-

If you don't have access to a H.V.A.C. vacuum pump, perhaps you could hook it up to a running auto by using a vacuum tee and a length of hose.
I'm not sure if that valve uses exhaust back pressure to assit in it's operation. Maybe someelse with alittle more knowledge will jump in.
