Does anyone know where I can find a place that sells delco wonderbar internal parts for a 1960 Vette. I need a part no# M10 Tuner Operating Relay. 7270545 Delco. Can anyone help !!!
The Wonderbar seek solenoids and control relays are typically components that burn up when when the 'Wonderbar syndrome' strikes (radio ages, doesn't stop on station, goes into 'infinite search' mode, blows its protective fuse in the fuse panel, and prior owners replace the original fuse with one having a higher rating).
These relay and solenoids have LONG been GM/Delco discontinued. Those who specialize in repairing Wonderbar radios 'hoard' them by harvesting used original parts from scrap car radios.
Fortunately, the relay you want/need, 7270545, is one that stayed constant when the radio design was simplified in 1961-62 and made the transition to a single solenoid system for seek power & treadle control...
If I needed one of these, I'd go to a scrap yard and unearth a Wonderbar from a luxury car of the era (Buick, Caddy) and see if I could pull a good used relay from it! Bear in mind that Wonderbar radios continued to be used in passenger car applications for several years after Corvette stopped using the unit in '62-63...
