PLEASE HELP. I'm in the process of restoring an early 61 #1330. It is a FI car with a top tank radiator. What I am looking for is the correct water pump and motor mount. Is it a 493 or is it a 609 pump? Notched or solid motor mount. Anyone know of any early car out there? Documentaion and or photos would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Could be an issue of those with 61's who've restored them have copies of the NCRS Judging Guide that clearly says ALL 1961-62 Corvettes used a 3782609 water pump. But, that's just a guess.Comment

It could be Paul is the first member to ask such a stupid question. I'm sure you never have - old expert C-1 man that you are. Well, I'm glad he at least has an answer. Course he'll probably never come on this forum again to tangle with all us experts, that's for sure.

Stu and Jack thanks for responding. I have posted in the past and I am a master judge that has multple issues of JG's. The reason I posted is that a lot of people that I spoke too say the 493 pump should be used with the top tank radiator in 61. Including Bill Mock. I personally feel it is also correct. So I am looking for some documentation so that it can be put in the new 61 62 JG. Plus I also want to make my car correct and not have any issues on the judging field. I was hoping some of the old timers would be able to help. Thanks, Paul.Comment
