Re: J65 Sintered Metallic Brakes
I would think a good brake shop should be able to do it. Years ago when I worked at Maremeont Corp. we production drum ground the linings to specific radii and taper and the Engineering Lab would sometimes also modify radii and/or taper ends, etc. with a drum grinder to fit drum as required. Make certain the linings are on the shoes. If not check for a finish grind after bonding/riveting. More passes through the grinder taking less per pass is better than fewer passes taking more per pass to assure accuracy, just like metal and wood.
Back then I experimented with a set of linings on my new '74 VW made of cashew oil and iron/asbestos. It sure made a difference and fade improved considerably!
