C1 deck lid trim.

I have been told that there is a difference between 56-57 deck lid trim and 58 to 62 deck lid trim.
I just fit a set to my 57 and then on my 62 and they fit both cars very nicely.
Grossmullers lists one part for 56 to 57, and another for 58 to 62.
Whats going on , and is there a difference?

I am pretty sure that there are three lengths of trim with subtle differences in length for the C1s. I believe that those from 61-62 are the longest as they are one piece per side. Plus that deck lid is different with a "spine" down the middle so that may have something to do with the shape. Earlier years had shorter main trim as they also used a small trim piece on the bulkhead where the door striker mounts (that filled in the gap). Hopefully some experts can chime in with detailed particulars.

53-55 are longer ,56 up shorter , look at the seats in a 53-55 (BIG and wide)

Bruce, per the 62 P&A; 53-5 are same, 56-60 same (L=3716307, R=3716308) and 61-2 are same. Gary....

I did try a extra set that I have on my 62 and 57 and it looked like they fit both cars perfectly.
Could that be?
