I have a 1960 Fuel Injection 283 solid lifter cam engine. I have looked over many books and ask several this question and still not sure.
Can anyone tell me what horsepower this is? Is there a place to actually look to make sure of what you have?
I'm not a fuelie man but the Corvette Black Book shows the engine suffix (last two letters stamped on the engine pad in front of the passenger-side head). Also, the Rochester fuel injection should have a number starting with 701xxxx. Other guys know for sure but I'll try to help.

Reason: Looks like 250 or 290 hp on pg #41 of the book
A lot of published specs list the 1960 FI power ratings as 275 HP with the hydraulic lifter camshaft and 315 with the Duntov mechanical lifter camshaft.
BUT... those were to be the ratings with the planned aluminum heads, which were cancelled just prior to the beginning of production, so the 1960 FI engines essentially carried over from '59, which were rated at 250/290.
For 1961 the ratings were again 275/315 with the 461X iron heads, which were essentially cast iron clones of the ill-fated aluminum heads.
