Anybody know about this C2 front end?

I know this sort of thing is verboten here, but I found this picture the other night. Taken in Pasadena, CA around 64. Anybody know who made this front end?

Not sure how it would have affected the output of the headlights, but I always rather liked it.

Also, always liked the looks of the Hands wheels on Corvettes and Corvairs.

Sorry for the quality as I just copied it with a camera, rather than with a scanner.

Hmmmm, kinda looks like "I wanna BE, a XKE"!

Early Series Jaguar E-Types used the glass covered headlights. Always had problems fogging up though.

I also can't tell from the picture, but the fashionable thing to do at the time was to remove the rear split window and replace it with a one piece.

Funny you mention it, as I personally know someone who did that. Of course back then a SWC was just another hot rod car.

From the picture, I can't tell but it looks like it could be a '64. The hood is neither a 63 or 64. Maybe a Frankenvette cobbled together?

I don't think it was pieced together. The owner ran a very popular steak house and I assume had a few bucks.

Although in those days, a middle class wage earner could easily afford a Corvette.

Also wonder what happened to all the 61s -67s that had 6 taillights?

              Bob,
Most of the 6 tailight corvettes are either in so calif, have been
restored, or long gone. A popular dealer applied modification here
in LA. The car in the picture could have been customized by Barris,
Dean Jeffries, or the many other car customizers in so calif. in those days.
Pasadena is a stones throw from both studios mentioned .
