I ordered a GM replacement handle after the window handle on my 75 convertibles passenger door broke. The replacement won't work because the notch for the spring clip is offset, thus the teeth in the handle wont consistently engage with the teeth on the regulator.

Thanks in advance for you time and efforts.

The correct replacement handle for your application should be GM #20348200. However, this number will appear nowhere on the part, itself, but it should be on the BOX the part was supplied in. Is this the number on the box you have?
Joe, I sold several hundred of those handles over the years and never had any complaints. I wonder what is wrong that his will not fit???

I agree; if that's the handle he has, it should fit just fine. Actually, this handle is of an improved design and should function better and be more durable than the original handle. The difference is in the design of the knob-to-lever articulation.
Thanks for your input. Maybe I got a bad part or maybe I got the wrong part. I'm not sure so I have attached a photo that shows the differences between the original and the new part. Unfortunately I threw away the box when I installed the new handle so I can't confirm the GM part number. I installed the part about a year ago and haven't used it since. My daughter recently rode with me and discovered the problem when she rolled the window down.
I look forward to your wise assesment of the differences.
It would be my luck to order a GM handle and receive a $5,000 bumper for a 56 Cadillac!
However, I did notice in the 1975 GM Chassis and Body Parts Catalog there are six 1968 Corvette handles listed with the numbers 9715957 to 9715962. The catalog indicates the differences in numbers coincide with different knob colors.
