    Hood Black Out Paint

I was wondering if I should use the Krylon 1613 paint on the undersde of my hood. I am restoring a 71 with a 454 and had planned on using emamel with a flattener however Krylon would be easier and it would be easier to touch up in the future. I thought the enamel would hold up better on the hood since the the engine compartment gets so hot. I would appreciate your thoughts and experience.

I used Krylon 1613 on my (driver) 65's hood in 1987. Other than some bugs that get thrown against it by the fan after a drive, there have been no problems with the coating. I can't say whether Krylon semi-flat black is the NCRS "correct" gloss level for that application, though.
