    59 door wheather strip clip

is there a trick to putting the clips on the door wheather strip. the ones that are secured by the same screw that holds in the molding on the top rear of the door. i did not have them and lost points when i was judge i installed them (maybe wrong?) and everytime i close the door it scraped the paint off the door jam. they get put on and just bent over right?
    any help appreciated
    thanx

    Robert....
Your 59 is a little different than my 61, but first check the door height at the door cap end. If it is low adjust the door. Next, the screw "flanged" nut must fit up into the door, unless it will strap the paint. You may have to remove a little weatherstripping to make sure it is inbeded into the rubber. New weatherstripping usually thick until it takes a set over time. I applied a little kryox on my door to help it slide smooth on the door jab as it closed. It seemed to help, but the screw is the paint grabber.... good luck
