'67 Upper & Lower Control Arm Pics

Does someone have some nice pics of the upper and lower control arms in the engine compartment. I need to know what parts are painted and what parts aren't. Trying to remove the complete engine compartment black-out that was done to my car by cleaning the paint off the parts where it shouldn't be. Just need a couple of good pics and some direction here on what is NCRS correct. Yes, I've read the JG but a couple of pics and some labels would go a long way towards helping ID the individual components and their proper finishes. Thanks as always.

One additional question. Is the overflow return nipple on the radiator suppose to be black or natural finish?

    Kirk,
Never tried to post a picture before, but here goes.
Remember upper and lower control arms painted gloss black as an assembled unit w/out the ball joints being installed at the time. Includes shafts, bushings, retainers and end bolts.

        Thanks, Joe.
Nice work on your frame and great shots.
I believe the lower alternator bracket and bolt were in position when the engine was painted.
        Have a great day

          Mike,
I thought power steering cars had the lower bracket painted glossy black and non-power was painted orange.

            You're right, good catch,
The pic I was referring to, had the pump shielded by the fan, I didn't pick it up. apologies.

              Hi Joe:

Are you talking about the paint on the lower bracket for the alternator? On my 67 with PS, I got dinged the first time the car was judged for it being black instead of orange. I changed it to orange and since then it has never drawn a comment during three subsequent Flight judging events including the 2007 National.

Offhand I don't see why the presence or absence of PS would affect the installation of the lower alternator bracket. As I understand it, the bracket was installed at Flint and was present when the engine was painted. For the bracket to be changed to black, it would have to be removed at St. Louis and replaced with a different part.

That's correct - the presence or absence of power steering has no effect on the lower alternator mounting bracket - there was only one bracket, and it was installed (and painted orange, with the bolt) at Flint V-8. It should be orange whether the car has power steering or not.

                  Hold on
I answer these too quickly, went all mental.
The base and PS BB's each have different bracketing, both SG Black.
In this instance of a rare BB delete, all lower brackets are the same, engine orange.
