Installation of Garnish Mouldings '64 Coupe

There are what appear to be two metal clips welded to the birdcage toward the front and rear of the door opening on each side. My question is do the garnish mouldings over the door openings slide over those clips or is the garnish moulding held in place only by the clip that is pushed up through the headliner along with the halo panel and the windshield trim?

I appreciate your help. The interior I tore out wasn't anything close to being correct, so I have no reference to start from.

Just finished putting my mouldings back on my 64 Coupe, they slip onto the 'welded' clips while the floating clip then goes into the hole towards the headliner. Problem is, the floating clip needs to be sliding inside the moulding strip which means removing it from the birdcage which can ruin it! Be very careful!!!! All three clips will then engage from the outside of door frame and snap into place. Easier said than done, just be careful and see how all the clips work together. Good Luck!

Thanks for your help. With the confidence of knowing the moulding attaches to those clips, I was able to manuever them around to a point where the moulding slid onto both clips. I had to bend the tabs down a bit so they would slid into the grooves of the moulding. They were pretty flush with the door frame.
