65 Rear emblem GM vs Original

On the left is original, although in rough shape. Pictured right, is new GM part number 3797414. There is an obvious difference in the finish of the area surrounding the "String Ray" text. The original has a textured finish, while the new GM part has a smooth glossy appearance surrounding the text. Is the Zip part the same as the GM part? Does this particular GM emblem have heavy chrome which is filling-in the texture? Hmmmm...

There is also a difference in the size of the upper loop in the letter "O". The original is smaller and has a taper on the inside on the upper loop.
I believe that the newer GM is the best you can do today. Not a 100 % but pretty close.
