    Distributor mechanical advance

Is the max mechanical advance the same for a 1962 single point distributor and the dual point mech advance only distributor? Ether way what should the max mech advance be? Thanks

    Re: Distributor mechanical advance

If you mean is the total advance under load the same for a 250hp engine and a 360 hp engine, the answer is yes, both have 24 (crank) degrees of mechanical advance built in. The initial timing, which adds to the distributor timing for total advance is significantly different. ranging from 4 degrees on the 250hp engine to 10 degrees on the 360hp versions.
