Hello, Everyone,
Can you tell me if the astro ventillation doors were installed prior to body paint? Should there be body color over spray on them?
Thanks In Advance

Hi Brett,
I'm thinking after paint for 2 reasons... first, their page in the AIM also shows the outer grills being installed at the same time and second, would the foam flapper seals make it through the re-flow oven?
Regards,
Alan
I have to agree, I don't think they would survive the reflow oven either. The overspay that is currently on them seems to be lacquer based. I just wanted anothers opinion before I clean them up and refurbish.
Thanks
Brett
Brett,
Are your flapper doors screwed or riveted to the fiberglass underbody? I've been talking to someone else about this and am curious about your convertible. On my 71 coupe, they are screwed into J-nuts mounted in the underbody. Thanks!

Hi Brett,
Thanks! The 71 AIM calls for screws for coupes and rivets for convertibles. The fellow I was talking to was pretty sure his convertible had rivets so I became curious about other cars and other years. Something else for my list of things to look for. Thanks again.

Alan
